Quince Cottage 4 Baxtersyke, Gifford,
25ha of mixed woodland and fields, at the edge of the Lammermuir Hills. A smallholding with shorthorn cross cows, Jacob sheep and Cashmere goats as well as a working Clydesdale horse. Vegetable and medicinal herbs are grown and gathered from the wild. garden. There are opportunities for working with a horse and livestock as well as developing skill in woodland management, craft and building. Courses in Goethean landscape, plant and animal observation are offered. The land is owned by the Life Science Trust.
- By train: The nearest Railway Station is either in Dunbar or Edinburgh.
- By bus: X6/106 and X8 runs from East Edinburgh to Haddington and west from Dunbar to Haddington (see timetables here). Bus service n 123 runs from Haddington to Gifford (see time tables here).
- By car from the South East: take the A1 towards Edinburgh and take the exit at Haddington.
- By Air: Edinburgh airport and from there to Haddington on bus X6/106 or X8 and number 123 from Gifford (as outlined above).
Pishwanton Wood is approximately 25 miles from Edinburgh city and 2.5 miles south of Gifford.
